This bottle represents a defining moment in modern Campbeltown whisky. The Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength Batch #1, bottled in March 2017 at 56.2% ABV, was the first release in what would become one of Scotland’s most respected small-batch cask strength series.
Distilled at Glengyle Distillery and matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks, this whisky showcases Kilkerran’s unmistakable house style — oily, malty, coastal and uncompromisingly traditional. Bottled without chill filtration or added colouring, it delivers the distillery character in its purest form.
Early batches such as this are now increasingly difficult to obtain and are widely regarded as benchmarks against which later releases are measured.
