The second Lost Recipe Series release revives the retired Roasted French Mocha stave from Maker’s Mark’s Private Selection archives. Exploring previously unmade stave combinations, this series showcases unique recipes that, according to the distillery’s label, will never be made again.
Edition 02 is barrel finished with ten oak staves: 3 Baked American Pure 2, 4 Maker’s Mark 46 and 3 Roasted French Mocha. The label describes layers of dark chocolate, buttery pastry and baked apple, with the Mocha stave contributing coffee and dried-fruit character.
Distilled, finished and bottled at Star Hill Farm, Loretto, Kentucky. Presented with Maker’s Mark’s signature red wax-dipped closure and accompanying Private Selection neck booklet.
