Selected jointly by Lucky Choice and Oxhead Whisky, this bottling showcases a wonderfully expressive side of mature Bowmore — combining vibrant tropical fruit, coastal character and elegant Islay smoke.
Twenty years of maturation have given the spirit time to develop impressive depth while retaining the energetic fruitiness and distinctive character that make mature Bowmore so fascinating.
NOSE
Immediately expressive and wonderfully tropical.
Passionfruit, pink grapefruit and green mango lead the way, followed by pineapple, preserved citrus and ripe stone fruit.
As it develops, the brighter fruit gives way to deeper Bowmore character — wax polish, coastal minerality, subtle earthiness and restrained peat smoke adding complexity underneath the tropical sweetness.
PALATE
At 55.7% ABV, this is a powerful yet characterful dram, allowing the concentration of the single cask to come through beautifully.
Expect layers of tropical fruit, citrus oils, mineral coastal notes and mature oak, intertwined with earthy peat and a slightly waxy character.
The high strength gives the whisky impressive intensity while carrying the fruit, smoke and maritime qualities across the palate.
FINISH
Long, warming and distinctly Islay.
The tropical sweetness gradually retreats, leaving behind citrus peel, coastal minerals, mature oak and lingering peat smoke, with the higher proof helping those flavours remain long after the sip.
