Returning after a year-long hiatus in 2012 as a way to consolidate limited supply, Wild Turkey 101 Rye Whiskey is a sight for sore eyes (and parched throats!). This NAS rye is finished in new charred oak casks and composed of a mash bill containing 51% rye, 37% corn, and 12% malted barley. Matured to 101 proof, Wild Turkey 101 Rye is back to being marked as an ongoing Wild Turkey release continuing its long-standing reputation as classically crafted rye whiskey. The nose offers notes of caramelized grain, honey, and crushed mint leaves doused in cream over a palate of rough grain, spice, mint, and baked apples dipped in butter.
